In efforts to create as small a carbon foot print as possible, our bakery is solar powered, and we use compostable packaging. We happily support fellow makers and farmers in the Siskiyou County area, and enjoy using seasonally relevant ingredients that can be found at the Mt. Shasta Farmers’ Market. From our family to yours, thank you for your support as we provide our passion to this conscientious community.

Our great, great, great grandfather, George Deter, built the Deter Mill on Ball Mountain-Little Shasta Road in the late 1800s. The mill included a three story hotel named, 'ForestVale.' It offered accommodations for both man and beast and even sported an iceskating rink. Our Shasta Vale ranch pays tribute to our family's settlement.
